Living In Between : Merging inside and outside spaces

The boundaries between indoor and outdoor are blurring. Design studio MUT created a home concept connecting architecture and the surrounding nature. The Valencia-based studio, presented at Cologne’s design event ‘Das Haus’, his future proof concept focussed around transitioning between interior and exterior spaces. This resulted in an all-round open residential space with the furniture as dividers for the different living areas. The project is called ‘A la fresca’ and is inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle of the little villages where residents get together outside in the evenings looking to cool down from hot summer days. Living concepts that are moving the direction to the outdoors, are embracing the idea of ‘living in between’, producing multifunctional spaces that are accessible to the outside from multiple sides. Architecture and nature are fluidly merging together.
